De Bortoli's newest cellar door is in the world renowned Hunter Valley. The historic Hunter Valley is Australia's oldest wine growing region and produces wines with character, personality, and the ability to age gracefully in the bottle. The region is especially famous for its wonderful Semillon wines. These wines will add lustre to the company's portfolio, complementing the Yarra Valley and King Valley wine ranges. The De Bortoli winery is at the gateway to the Hunter directly opposite Broke Road, and is the first winery you encounter as you begin your journey into Hunter Valley wine country.
The 26 hectare property includes an 800 tonne capacity winery, producing the De Bortoli Hunter Valley and Black Creek labels. De Bortoli has purchased the adjoining 100 acre block with the view to future plantings of varieties including Semillon, Shiraz and Merlot, and also a nearby vineyard with 40 year old Semillon vines.
